Megan Benner

Clinical Social Worker Associate (Oregon)

Clinical Focus

  • Navigating Chronic Pain & Illness: Working with adults living with chronic pain and illness through an integrative, biopsychosocial framework that considers physical symptoms, emotional well-being, the nervous system, and lived experience. Using Pain Reprocessing Therapy and other evidence-based approaches to foster safety, self-compassion, agency, and hope.

  • Trauma & Emotional Well-Being: Helping clients recognize trauma responses, strengthen emotional regulation, and develop gentler, more compassionate ways of relating to themselves and others.

  • Grief, Loss & What Comes Next: Support through periods of grief, uncertainty, identity shifts, and other significant life changes while exploring what matters most and finding ways to navigate transitions with clarity and intention.

A special focus of Megan's clinical work is supporting adults experiencing chronic pain and illness. Her interest in this area is informed by lived experience with chronic pain, graduate research examining the biopsychosocial paradigm of chronic pain, and extensive training in Pain Reprocessing Therapy.

She brings an integrative mind-body perspective to her work, helping clients explore the complex relationship between the brain, nervous system, emotions, and persistent pain and symptoms while developing a kinder relationship with themselves, their bodies, and their experiences. She enjoys incorporating humor and levity while collaborating with clients throughout their recovery process.

Drawing from approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness-based practices, trauma-informed care, and the Japanese philosophy of Ikigai, Megan works alongside clients to better understand patterns, clarify their core values, cultivate practical skills, and explore possibilities for living with greater intention and flexibility.

Outside of her clinical work, Megan enjoys connecting with land and building community through gardening, farming, and Restorative Justice. She is a seeker of sunshine and soil; she loves poetry, mini ponies, and spooky stories.
